Ground Defense and Survival
Ground Defense and Survival™ is one of the most effective, efficient and practical systems for protecting the officer in a grappling scenario.

Although popular today, ground fighting is just about the last thing an officer wants to do during an arrest. Too many things can go wrong. Once down you may find yourself on the losing end of a fight with someone bigger, stronger or more skilled. Once body-to-body contact is made, the suspect now has access to all your weaponry. What about multiple attackers? What if the attacker has a hidden blade? Do you still want to wrestle with him on the ground? For the most part, ground fighting is too dangerous and complex to be of use for the average officer.

This course makes a clear distinction between ground fighting (the control and manipulation of suspects on the ground) and Ground Defense and Survival™ (techniques to avoid going to the ground and what to do when you get there). This is important because in the real-world the last thing an officer wants to do is go to the ground and wrestle with a suspect.

Ground Defense and Survival™ teaches officers how to stop an attacker from taking them down and how to get back to their feet if they do find themselves on the ground. Ground Defense and Survival™ is one of the most effective, efficient and practical systems for protecting the officer in a grappling scenario. It not only teaches how to avoid going to the ground in a fight, but how to win when and if you find yourself there. What makes this system so valuable is that it was specifically designed for law enforcement, and takes into account the realities officers must face (i.e. duty belt, firearm, pavement etc.) and how these distinctions may alter the outcome.
